Science Fair Award for Communication

Science Fair Special Award for Science Communication

RealTimeSTEAM created and coordinates the Phoenix Fan Fusion (formerly Phoenix Comicon) Special Award for Excellence in Science Communication at both the Arizona Science & Engineering Fair (AzSEF) and the Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Fair (SARSEF). The award recognizes both excellence in a science fair project and exceptional skill in communicating the foundational science, technology or engineering involved in that project. We're looking for the next generation of science communicators like Bill Nye or Mae Jemison.

Middle School students who register for the Phoenix Fan Fusion Special Award for Excellence in Science Communication are eligible to win tickets to Phoenix Fan Fusion (PFF). High School winners of the awards receive a ticket for each team member to attend and present their project at PFF. A panel of scientists, novelists, and other science communicators will judge this last round at PFF where the winner receives a trophy and a prize package.

Register for the awards at each fair:

SARSEF, March 6-9, 2019;

AzSEF, April 3, 2019.
