EduTech Expo 2018 at Phoenix Comic Fest

In support of our mission to bring a quality professional development experience for K-12 teachers and community college instructors at Phoenix Comic Fest, RealTimeSTEAM presents EduTech Expo 2018, Thursday, May 24, 2018, 7-9 PM, North Building, 224AB, Phoenix Convention Center.

Open to all Phoenix Comic Fest attendees, EduTech Expo 2018 features the curriculum, outreach and educational technology of Arizona-based and international science, technology and research organizations in a casual atmosphere geared for one-on-one demos and conversations.

Our EduTech Expo 2018 featured organizations include:

Monarch Butterfly Fund, whose mission is to foster the conservation of North American Monarch butterflies and their migration through habitat restoration, research, monitoring, education and support for sustainable community development in and near monarch habitats in Mexico;

Southwest Monarch Study, researching the migration and breeding patterns of monarch butterflies in Arizona and the Southwestern United States;

QESST ERC, Quantum Energy and Sustainable Solar Technologies, an Engineering Research Center (ERC) sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) that focuses on advancing photovoltaic science, technology and education;

Brain Fair, the brain child of Professor Heather Bimonte-Nelson, over the last decade, this program has offered 7,000 third and fifth graders an understanding about the wonders of the brain, science and the advantages of pursuing college;

Neuroscience of Memory and Aging, the research goals of the Bimonte-Nelson laboratory are to characterize the cognitive and brain changes that occur during aging, as well as to develop behavioral and pharmacological strategies to attenuate mnemonic and neurobiological age-related alterations;

Arizona Museum of Natural History, inspiring understanding and appreciation of the natural and cultural history of the Southwest (and dinosaurs);

Studio 4 Gaming Innovation, ASU West, exploring the transformative power of art through the media of games and play;

Variable Labs, delivering effective training content using immersive technology;

Universal Technical Institute, leading provider of training for students preparing for careers as professional automotive, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle, marine, CNC machining and welding technicians;

Girl Scouts Arizona Cactus Pine Council, girls and adults who believe in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader);

Infragard, helping to protect Arizona’s infrastructure by supporting the priorities of the FBI; to cultivate partnerships with public and private sectors through bi-directional sharing of actionable information, training and educational events.

Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, City of Phoenix, committed to a secure and resilient city that empowers the whole community.

Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera, Arizona State University, featuring the research work of the three cameras mounted on the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) that capture high resolution and multi-spectral images of the lunar surface;

STAX3D, innovating highly effective cost, time, and quality solutions in 3D printing, Kindergarten through Business;

Galvanize, cultivating tech talent for both companies and individuals with courses in full-stack web development and data science;

Arizona State University Interplanetary Initiative, Arizona State University’s pan-university effort that will pave the way for the future of humans in space;

TEALS, Technology Education and Literacy in Schools helps high schools throughout the US build and grow sustainable computer science programs;

AIAA, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, celebrating aerospace ingenuity and collaboration, and its importance to our way of life;

Education Empowers, a neighborhood community of volunteers passionate about promoting education for children focusing on Robotics, Sustainability, STEM / STEAM;

Focus Astronomy, to educate and inspire others on the wonders and mysteries of the universe;

Idea Museum, inspiring children of all ages in Mesa and the Phoenix metropolitan area through exhibitions and activities focused on discovering art, nurturing creative thinking and engaging families.
